Saurian's similarities with The Isle are summarized to both being dinosaur simulation games where you grow a dinosaur from hatchling to adult in an open world map. However Saurian differs from The Isle by lacking multiplayer (for now, as it is a planned feature in the future), and for depicting dinosaurs in a realistic context, with each playable dinosaur going through an accurate ontogenic growth, being reconstructed based on late paleontological agreements, and layering them over an accurate reconstruction of their paleoenvironment, in this case, Bone Butte, a locality in South Dakota belonging to the Hell Creek Formation, set shortly before the infamous asteroid impact that ended the Cretaceous period, 66 million years ago.
