"Most modern birds (Ornithurae) of Hell Creek occupy a watermarginal habitat, much like modern ‘wader’ type birds. Wide, thin toes allow them to walk over soft mud, while a narrow bill is used to probe for seeds and small invertebrates. One of the more widespread groups of modern birds near the end Cretaceous was the Cimolopterygidae (Cretaceous Wings). This family includes animals such as Cimolopteryx and Lamarqueavis. Like the unnamed ornithurine, this group includes animals that greatly resemble modern shorebirds. These animals were present in Hell Creek, but more common farther south in the Lance Formation."

Lamarqueavis

Lamarqueavis, by Chris Masna

Lamarqueavis is an extinct genus of cimolopterygid. Lamarqueavis petra was once assigned in the genus Cimolopteryx, but was transferred to this new genus by Federico Agnolin in 2010. Lamarqueavis seems to have been smaller than "Cimolopteryx" maxima. It was a small avialan that lived close to the water's edge, behaving like a modern wading bird, using its long legs to walk on the sand, its small bill to probe for small invertebrates, and other food sources available, but always with its wings ready for flight if danger is imminent.
