"The buckthorn family, Rhamnaceae, are a primitive group of eudicots that spread rapidly during the Late Cretaceous. Their foliage, fruits, flowers and pollen are all known from the fossil record, and multiple species are present in Hell Creek. Rhamnus cleburni are known for their large, serrated leaves, and R. salicifolius with leaves that are often mistaken for Dryophyllum."

― Saurian: A Field Guide to Hell Creek

Rhamnus is a genus of plants from the Rhamnaceae family, that gives the name to that family. This genus is known from the modern days, commonly given the name of buckthorns. Currently there are 110 extant accepted species of this genus, which are composed of small trees and shrubs. They are found in the temperate and subtropical parts of the Northern Hemisphere in east Asia and North America, as well as in more localized places in the subtropical Southern Hemisphere in parts of Africa and South America. There are both deciduous and evergreen species of buckthorns. The plant bears black or red berry-like drupes. The name is due to the woody spine on the end of each twig in many species. In Hell Creek, the two extinct species, Rhamnus cleburni and Rhamnus salicifolius, are tentatively assigned to the genus, however they are more likely not true members of Rhamnus, despite possibly being true rhamnoids. They seem to have been an edible food source for herbivores, such as Anatosaurus, Triceratops and Denversaurus.

Rhamnus is not known to be planned for the game, however, it is found in the official game's artbook.
