The following is comments regarding the game Saurian made by its developers on their Discord Channel and livestreams
Discord
Casterolimulus Confirmation (01-24-2017)
HistoricCollector: @Garrus Is the horseshoe crab species in Saurian Casterolimulus?
Tomozasaurus: Our horseshoe crab is Casterolimulus
Mammal and bird confirmation
01-19-2017
Garrus: Didelphodon is in, as are Brodavis and an unnamed ornithurine.
01-21-2017
animalman57: What was the other mammal other than Didelphodon was going to be in the game?
P. funkei: Meniscoessus
No Two Medience Formation (01-24-2017)
princeofsaiyans869: Is the Two Medicine Formation still a possibility even thought [sic] the stretch goal was not met?
Garrus: We are not considering it. Far to [sic] soon, considering the base game is not even out yet.
Hell Creek Mosasaur (01-26-2017)
Jobaria: The fossils announced today are not complete enough to determine what sort of mosasaur was found. We spoke directly with Clint Boyd who was part of the crew that found them he estimated it at around 20ft in length. They're hoping to go back next summer and see if they can locate more of it before publishing.
Jobaria: [B]ut, given that a diagnostic example of Mosasaurus hoffmani is known from slightly older sediments (Fox Hills) and we know that hoffmani was around all the way up to the K/Pg, there's really nothing that this fossil changes about our selected species.
Casterolimulus and Toxochelys Modeler Revealed (01-26-2017)
Jobaria: We have Chris Lomaka. [H]e did the Horseshoe crab and Toxochelys and some other cool stuff still to come.
Thescelosaurus integument (01-26-2017)
animalman57: @Garrus Oh, that's right. Also, not to be mean, but it's spelt Thescelosaurus. There is a E in between the C and L. Just wondering also, did you base the Thescelosaurus design on Kulindadromeus?Garrus: Thescelosaurus's integument is indeed based on Kulindadromeus's.
Life Cycles (01-26-2017)
animalman57: Just wondering, which animals will have a life cycle that haven't been revealed yet? The ones that have been revealed are T. rex, Triceratops, Pachycephalosaurus, Dakotaraptor, and "Anatosaurus".
ENGARY: All the animals for which the life cycle is intricate to the ecosystem and the life of the playables will be included. Anzu and Ankylosaurus will have life stages, as will crocodilians in the ecosystem, and a few other species.
Species that don't have a life cycle important for gameplay will not be included. For example, the two mammals species likely had atricial young and wouldn't be roaming around the ecosystem, so don't expect to find baby Didelphodon
animalman57: Will all the herbivores have life cycles so the predators can go for the young since its' easier than a healthy adult like in life?
ENGARY: Yes, all the herbivorous dinosaurs will have life cycles.
Speculations (01-26-2017)
chrisaju: So I know you guys do a lot of research, but some things you definitely make up/educated guesses. Like for example, color schemes for animals, and mimic Anzu. How do you come up with these ideas?
ENGARY: Influence from living animals along with our own creative flare for the most part. Often times we look for animals with a similar lifestyle or anatomy to the extinct ones and work from there.
Anzu's Mimicry Origin (01-05-2017)
Jobira: [T]o that end, we've always sought a reasoning or starting point for our speculations. In the case of Anzu and mimicry, its been pointed out that a variety of predators have been known to make use of auditory mimicry of their prey. The suggestion to include something like this in one of our dinosaurs actually came from Robert DePalma. Anzu, being a generalist and not being specifically adapted for predation on anything larger than a mouthful seemed likke a good match for this suggestion: it goes from being a big flashy birb into something that a player has just cause to be fearful of. It adds a significant character element to the animal that also happens to gel nicely with its inferred ecological role.
Anzu Mechanics (01-26-2017)
ENGARY: For Anzu's immitation mechanics: say you want to steal an egg from a Trike nest. You might be able to immitate a Trike call to entice the mother Trike over, or even a T. rex call to entice the Trike to leave the nest to confront the danger. Then you can run up and grab and egg or two before you're spotted.
ENGARY: Male and Female Anzu have different ecological roles in the ecosystem. Males are much larger and more showy, and probably ate larger prey items and focused on taller plants. Female Anzu are smaller, cryptically colored, and probably focused on smaller prey and lower-lying plants.
ENGARY: Females are probably gonna be more timid. You should play the female cautiously. You're one of the smallest non-avian dinosaurs in Saurian.
Adé (jk): As far as non-breeding social behavior goes, are either Anzu sex planned to be flocking animals?
ENGARY: Females might hang together for protection, but males are solitary and guard large nests of eggs. Parenting duties in theropods falls on the father.
Justin: [W]ill both the male Anzu and the female take care of the chicks?
weaselman: [W]ould trikes tolerate a female anzu?
ENGARY: @Justin Nope. Only male. @weaselman Maybe? If they're around the eggs and babies I'd think not, but if they're foraging together then perhaps.
Anzu's diet (01-26-2017)
weaselman: oh and how would the anzu hunt? would it be like modern day secretary birds?
ENGARY: Anzu is going to be an omnivore. It will eat a number of things in the ecosystem, ranging from small animals to plant matter.
Mostly the latter, but it will also eat mammals, lizards, baby dinosaurs, and eggs, just to name a few.
Pectinodon Status (01-26-2017)
animalman57: @Garrus you said Acheroraptor would be like a fox, would Pectinodon be like a coyote, then?
ENGARY: Pectinodon is low priority right now. Will probably be one of the last animals added in Saurian, but if it is, it will be more like a predatory, groundbird like a seriema.
Pachycephalosaurus Skin (01-26-2017)
Ava's run out of Idubbbz memes: Is there any reasoning behind the pinkish colors of the Pachy?
ENGARY: The Pachy aren't pink... The male has a red head though.
ENGARY: As for why, I believe we did it because its coloration is similar to a lizard that we based part of the Pachy's behavior on.
サヴィタ― "Savitar": @Ava's run out of Idubbbz memes Kulindadromeus doesn't have osteoderms either. More specifically, Pachy's tail is based on Uromastyx iirc
ENGARY: @Ava's run out of Idubbbz memes Speculation based on some other reptiles. We really don't know what pachycephalosaur integument was like, so we have to guess.
P. funkei: [A]nd Ctenosaura.
HistoricCollector: @ENGARY Speaking of the Pachy, was its tail based on the Sudan plated lizard?
P. funkei: Ctenosaura.
Dakotaraptor Coloration Inspiration (01-26-2017)
chrisaju: Interesting. Such as Triceratops and Edmontosaurus/Anatosaurus having flashy colors as display, and rex being dark as camouflage? Makes sense. Still don't think white is a good color for Dakotaraptor, but you explained it was partially for display, so it makes sense.
ENGARY: @chrisaju Dakotaraptor's coloration is partially based on osprey, as well as a few other birds of prey, if that helps.
Denversaurus tail (01-27-2017)
animalman57: @Garrus, can Denversaurus swing its' tail like a Ankylosaurus? If so, will it in the game?
Garrus: Think of the difference between the two as being the difference between a mace and a spiked chain. Both will hurt you, but in different ways.
animalman57: So will it be used in that way in the game?
Garrus: @animalman57 Most likely, yes.
Mammals being food for the dinosaurs (01-27-2017)
animalman57: Will any of the mammals be food sources for the playable predators/omnivores?
ENGARY: There are only 2 mammal species in the game. Both of which are very different ecologically. Both of them will be prey items for all the theropods at various stages of growth, but only one of them will be a predator of hatchlings.
animalman57: The Meniscoessus?
ENGARY: Didelphodon is the one you have to worry about. It's a predatory mammal kinda living like a badger. Meniscoessus is more insectivorous, iirc. Need to check the latter though.
Cut Creatures (01-27-2017)
HistoricCollector: Just out of curiosity, were there any animals from the third stage of the Hell Creek that were cut from development?
Resident MUH BITE FORCE: We want to include all the animals from the upper third of Hell Creek, but many had to be cut for a number of reasons. Everything smaller than Chamops, for example, because it doesn't show up on the map at super small sizes. Same with everything not found in the Bone Butte region.

Pectinodon Confirmation
Excrepted from Part 2 of the September 19, 2016 livestream at 00:21:11:
hitchcockzoo : @SaurianGame I know Torosaurus won't be in the game, but will Troodon?
SaurianGame\s : No Troodon, just Pectinodon
