"Near identical to the giant sequoia (Sequoiadendron giganteum), sequoia are the most impressive trees in Hell Creek, growing to immense sizes of up to 100 meters tall in the oldest individuals. Their size and lack of nutritional value means these plants are rarely fed upon."

― Saurian encylopedia

Sequoia dakotensis is a genus of sequoia trees belonging to the cypress family Cupressaceae. There is only one surviving member of the genus Sequoia, which is named Sequoia sempervirens, known as Califronia redwood. Sequoia dakotensis may have been simillar to the giant sequoia (Sequoiadendron giganteum). Just like Sequoia sempervirens, the Sequoia dakotensis may have been the tallest tree in its environment. Sequoia have very little nutritional value, meaning its probably rare in a diet of any Hell Creek herbivore, with the exception of Anatosaurus, whose trees are seen as a reliable food source.
